Frequently Asked Questions

Is a Motorsports Country Club like a golfing club?
Yes, the HRR Motorsports Country Club is very similar to the golfing country clubs, only the excitement and challenge is centered on high performance driving of a car, not a golf ball.

2. Is HRR a private membership club?
Yes, just like the golfing clubs, there is a membership initiation fee/monthly dues structure.

3. Is there a way for individual non-members to participate in the activities of the club?
Yes, there are social memberships for those wishing not to drive, but yet be a part of the excitement. Other non-member participation will be thorough the conference center and instructional driving schools.

4. How often do the members have access to the road course and other facilities?
The members will have access to the road circuit 60 days per year. The other days are reserved for maintenance, holidays, and hosting events. The clubhouse and other facilities are available year-round.

5. As a member, may I invite my friends and family?
Families are always welcome. This is a family-oriented club, with lots of extras for the enjoyment of your guests, such as the nature hiking paths, closed-circuit TV, and fine dining. Each member will get an allotment of non-family visitor passes each year.

6. Will storage be available for my car and trailer?
Private garages will be available for long-term rental to store your car. Each is equipped with 120-volt electrical and compressed air. We also have a secured trailer parking area for long or short-term use.

7. Do you have service technicians available to assist with my car? And, do you have gas and other accessories available on-site?
There is a full-time technical center with certified technicians available to assist you. They also provide standard as well as racing fuel. Gas and racing fuel will be available from a self-service fueling station.

8. How does the insurance work?
You are self-insured. Should there be damage to your car, you are responsible. At the beginning of each day before entering the circuit, you will sign a waiver form accepting responsibility.

9. Will I be able to join a class or get individual driving instruction?
Yes, we have full-time performance driving / race instructors to assist you with honing your driving skills. Classes will be available from beginner status up to, and including, professional licensing.

10. I am not a professional racer. Will I feel comfortable and be accepted?
This is not a club for the professional racer, although some will be members. This is a club for the motorsports enthusiast who wants a place to practice, play, entertain, or be entertained by participating in performance driving.

11. Will high performance street legal cars and purebred racecars run together on the track?
Typically not; the track manager will segregate cars by type and speed capability prior to allowing them on the track. Driving sessions will be about 30-40 minutes each, depending on the number of cars participating each day.

12. Will hosting of other events be considered?
Yes, car clubs like the BMW and Mustang clubs will be hosting events, and many of our members will be participating. We also will be a destination for many car shows.

13. Since this concept is new to me, are there other Motorsports Country Clubs in operation?
Yes, there are a few that have proven themselves with a similar business model. Probably the best known is Autobahn Country Club in Joliet, IL. Others are being built in New Jersey, Texas, Pennsylvania’s Poconos and New Hampshire. Even the Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, AL, has a lot of the amenities associated with a country club.

14. Where is the track located?
The property is located in Spencer, North Carolina, directly off Interstate 85 and approximately 40 minutes north of Charlotte and 45 minutes south of Greensboro.
